Government Mamit College celebrated its Freshers’ Social cum Graduation Day with great enthusiasm and dignity on 18th July, 2025 at the Chhimveng Branch YMA Hall, Mamit. The occasion marked a warm welcome to the newly admitted students and a heartfelt farewell to the outgoing batch.
First Session
The event was graced by Pu B. Lalchhanzova, Hon’ble Minister, Government of Mizoram, as the Chief Guest, and was chaired by Dr. MS Dawngliana Hnamte, Associate Professor, Department of Economics.
The programme began with a devotion led by Pastor Daniel Lalmalsawma Sailo, Hmunsam Pastor Bial, Mamit, invoking blessings for the gathering. This was followed by a welcome speech delivered by Mr. Vanramropuia Sailo, Principal, Government Mamit College, who greeted the freshers and congratulated the graduates on their academic journey.
Ms. Lalthazuali, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, offered a warm felicitation to the students, followed by a valedictory speech by Mr. Lalnunkima, representing the outgoing students.
The cultural segment featured a vibrant dance performance by the Dingdi Cultural Club of GMC, adding colour and joy to the event.
A significant highlight of the occasion was the preview and release of a book titled "Introduction to Environmental Science," authored by Dr. Lalnghakmawia Thangluah and Mr. Omega Vanlalduata, Assistant Professors from the Departments of Geography and Mizo, respectively. The book was officially released by the Chief Guest, who also delivered an insightful speech on the importance of education and environmental awareness.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. LDV Infimate, Associate Professor, Department of English, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, students, faculty, and organizing members.

Second Session
The second session of the programme was hosted by C. Lalramthanga and Lalmalsawmi, who kept the audience engaged with their lively and graceful compering.

A major highlight of the session was the much-anticipated Announcement of Miss and Mister Fresher 2025, which brought excitement and celebration among the new students.
This was followed by vibrant group singing by students of the First Semester, a fun and creative "Look-Alike" event presented by the Third Semester, and a colourful and energetic "Flip Flop Fashion" show by students of the Fifth Semester.
The session concluded on a cheerful note, celebrating the talents and enthusiasm of the student community.
