Report on the Observation of Road Safety Week

Government Mamit College observed Road Safety Week on 7 February 2025 at the college’s Examination Hall, with the objective of spreading awareness about traffic rules and promoting safe practices among students and staff.

The programme was chaired by Mr. K. Vanlalnghaka, Associate Professor, Government Mamit College.

Key highlights of the event included:

• Speech by Traffic Police Representative:
  A representative from the Traffic Police Department addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of following traffic regulations, wearing helmets and seat belts, avoiding drunk driving, and maintaining discipline on the roads.

• Speech by Mr. Jerome Lalbiakdika, District Transport Officer (DTO), Mamit:
  Mr. Jerome Lalbiakdika delivered an insightful speech on the role of youth in ensuring road safety. He discussed common causes of road accidents and outlined preventive measures, encouraging students to become responsible citizens.

The event successfully raised awareness about road safety issues and reinforced the importance of adhering to traffic norms to ensure personal and community safety.
