On July 22, 2024, the NSS unit of Government Mamit College (GMC) organized an orientation program and a campus cleanliness drive. The event began at 9:30 AM with the orientation session, chaired by Miss Jeny Lalrinmawii, the Program Officer of the NSS Unit. Dr. Lalnghakmawia Thangluah served as the resource person, delivering an insightful speech on the philosophy, history, aims, objectives, and motto of the NSS. He emphasized the roles and importance of participating as NSS volunteers, highlighting the impact of their contributions to society.

Following the orientation, the second session commenced at 11:30 AM, where NSS volunteers were divided into groups to undertake a cleanliness drive across various locations within the campus. This initiative not only promoted environmental awareness but also fostered a spirit of teamwork and community service among the students. The event successfully underscored the NSS's commitment to both personal development and social responsibility.
